All this golf talk is getting to me. I have a new driver and 3 wood that I probably won't be able to try out for another 3 months. Sucks Trying to buy a game? Grin......I feel that pain. I like to try different clubs too.....kinda a club junkie. But....Like they like to say: "It ain't the arrows.....it's the Indian".

Today I shot a 39/41 for an 80.....and with my handicap......I had a barn-burner net score. My partner and I fished atop our Flight and atop all the white tee flights (5 x 10 = 50 two-man teams). We really smoked 'em. I had four birdies today. We get our picture in the paper......and some cash prizes for winning. Life is good in OZ! FORE!
FIRST PLACE Tom Wagner, Tom Peterson $43.00 $43.00
Second place paid $39, Third place $36, and 4th place Paid $31 each We had a free lunch and FREE BEER. Fun day. Winning is good!

Was telling the pro he wanted new clubs, they were not working worth a shit. So they went to the range and the pro said lets see what you got for clubs and starts banging the balls down the range fairway straight as an arrow and long, puts them in his bag and says the clubs are fine. My buddy mumbled under breath, smartass to the guy! Bahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I have posted up over 100 scores on the GHIN handicap system over the past three years. All are legit and my handicap remains quite high. I can roll up a low eighty's score at times.....but most remain in the mid-nineties. This is the best I've played. Same goes for my buddy......we just played well together the past two days. That's my story.......and I'm sticking to it. .

Playing golf tomorrow with a group of Minnnesnowtan's here for a little R&R. We are playing at the Wigwam....which is an old course created by the Goodyear and Firestone tire companies back in the 20's and before. Back then....they needed a place for their exec's and engineers to come here to develop tires that could withstand the rigors of this climate. Lots of those guys came here to design tires we have today on cars and road machines, aircraft and more. This golf course was a way to entice them to come here (could not yet fly here) and work on the tires of the day. This golf course is kinda "old school" with wider fairways, lots of water and sand traps, and lots of big trees to line the fairways. Pretty cool. The street names around the area include Litchfile (a top engineer in his time), Firestone, and such. . There is a very visible site on the white tank mountains near here.....where earth moving machines spent many years to work on carving a smooth area up the mountain. Most of those machines were caterpillar machines....and they developed tires that could withstand the rocks, heat and desert conditions that still serve us today. I can see that "road" up the mountain from my patio....some 30 miles away? Pretty cool.

Hey, what kind of driver you run foggy? Since my surgery my club speed has dropped off to around 85-90 mph. Was thinking of looking at a couple year old Taylormade M2, to try and get some distance back. What do you think?

Hey, what kind of driver you run foggy? Since my surgery my club speed has dropped off to around 85-90 mph. Was thinking of looking at a couple year old Taylormade M2, to try and get some distance back. What do you think? I just got a new Driver for my birthday about two weeks ago. I've always had a fairly high clubbed speed.....but was not getting the kinda yards off the tee I expected. I got fitted for a driver.....and most importantly THE CORRECT SHAFT. (I needed a stiffer flex shaft given my club speed.) When the right combination came together I got another 20 or 30 yards off my best hits. I now can get up to 250 yards.....which is where I am about maxed out from the tee due to my ability limits. it could be just changing the shaft will get what your looking for? Things change with time. A new shaft would only cost about $30 to $50 dollars. The guy that fitted me worked with me for nearly two hours......and I hit a ton of balls to get to this combination that works for me. He charges $50....but gives you $30 credit if you buy a club. I did get a complete new driver......it's a Ping G400 with LST (low spin tech) and a tour grade stiff flex shaft (65 grain). My partners noticed my improvements off the tee box.....and so have I. I think you could get "fitted" at many places having the "track man" machines. I know they have 'em (track man) at the PGA store in MPLS.....and lots of 'em elsewhere at better golf courses. They measure club speed, ball speed, "smash factor", angle of attack, and loft, ball spin rates and lots more. It's cool how they can dial in on your results to give you better equipment. . Meetring a few Brainerd guys now....to play a round of golf with them. FORE!

I saw all my numbers at the PGA simulator we have played at another course. I definitely need some help! LOL!

Got a offer to buy into our local golf course last night. Sounded interesting last night. Not so much after talking to the CPA that does the books for the course this morning. I think they are just looking for another donor with some cash.
Jeez, I hope they all don't lose money like that!

Short golf seasons do not help them.

Short golf seasons do not help them. Not to mention golf participants seem to be dropping. And combined with the fact the young millennials are not really taking up interest in golf much I would not get involved.
