I think a lot of local golf courses in the Northern states are struggling. Short golf seasons do not help them. Not to mention golf participants seem to be dropping. And combined with the fact the young millennials are not really taking up interest in golf much I would not get involved. ^. Yep......most courses have struggled to make any money. I think most folks own golf courses because they love the game.....and not as a good investment. The exception would be those guys that are home developers in some climates.

Golf… A Poem In My Hand I Hold A Ball, White And Dimpled...Rather Small. Oh, How Bland It Does Appear, This Harmless Looking Little Sphere.
By Its Size I Could Not Guess The Awesome Strength It Does Possess. But Since I Fell Beneath Its Spell, I've Wandered Through The Fires Of Hell.
My Life Has Not Been Quite The Same Since I Chose To Play This Stupid Game. It Rules My Mind For Hours On End; A Fortune It Has Made Me Spend.
It Has Made Me Curse And Made Me Cry, And Hate Myself And Want To Die. It Promises Me A Thing Called Par, If I Hit It Straight And Far.
To Master Such A Tiny Ball, Should Not Be Very Hard At All. But My Desires The Ball Refuses, And Does Exactly As It Chooses.
It Hooks And Slices, Dribbles And Dies, And Disappears Before My Eyes. Often It Will Have A Whim, To Hit A Tree Or Take A Swim.
With Miles Of Grass On Which To Land, It Finds A Tiny Patch Of Sand. Then Has Me Offering Up My Soul, If Only It Would Find The Hole.
It's Made Me Whimper Like A Pup, And Swear That I Will Give It Up. And Take To Drink To Ease My Sorrow, But The Ball Knows ... I'll Be Back Tomorrow
Stand proud, noble swingers of clubs and losers of balls!
Recent studies found average golfers walk 900 miles a year. Another study found golfers drink 22 gallons of alcohol a year. This means, on average, golfers get 41 miles to the gallon! Kind of makes you proud. Almost makes you feel like a hybrid.

Hit my best ever score today. Had two 40s for nine.....which makes 80. Kinda blew it on the last hole by blading an 80 yard set up to get a bogie. Sure would be nice to BREAK 80. Still......I'm happy. Driver was co-operating nicely.....and hit some drives out to about 260 yards.....which is long by this old duffers standpoint. . FORE!

Played golf this morning / afternoon here in OZ. It was 80 degrees at 8 am.....and Temps got to 98f......but it was not too bad playing. I did drink plenty of water and had my first energy drink today - which seemed to help a bit. Shot an 85 in the heat.....and was happy with that. Still have not played with temps over 100......but I think that will happen later this week. Sure getting a good tan. FORE!

Our golf course still has snow in the bunkers. But they have a 2 man scramble planned for sunday, so we will see how that goes.

Got my new old man senior shaft put on my driver head. 240 without swinging hardly. 😜 How far did it go with the prior shaft? I had a higher flex shaft than I do now......and it would not go nearly as far. The shaft I have now is a Tour Shaft and quite stiff. I picked up 20 to 30 yards with it. Usually.... the more flex .....the less distance.

Now I hit a couple to the 250 yard mark tonight with my shoulder at 90% and the senior flex shaft. Swing slower, more distance, who would think that?
