it really depends on how much you plan to do. When I bought mine, I was preparing for the end of the world as we know it. I still like the big one cause I still do big production when I get it out. Bigger batches mean fewer batches to get through something. If you're just doing some hobby stuff or part of a deer once a year, I'd go with a small one. If you're getting ready to get the abandoned missile silo provisioned, I'd go big. Opstay alkingtay aboutway ethay ilosay. I only mentioned the abandoned one.

I've actually got some friends that own and live in an old missile silo.

Here before and after of today's venison canning. Pink salt, pepper, barley & venison. Jars sitting on towel are fresh out of the canner.

What’s the point of the barley?

What’s the point of the barley? Flavor, and it stretches the yield a tad.

This thread started with a picture of canned bear 4 years ago. And bear we’re at again. Got the last of it done today, inspired by Tooln’s barley add. That barley business gave me an entire extra jar. Just wunderin’ if you plant Quick Barley, will it germinate quicker?

I’m guessing it would be delayed.

I figger the runoff from those failed plots of fermented grain needs to be cooked down for whiskey. JPS buddies are working on it. The feds just think they are cooking maple sap.
