ODN reports the MN DNR selected a deer advisory committee member whose role is to move deer control without hunting ideas forward. DNR also said there are more deer in the state of MN right now than any time in history. hehehe. 1990s and 2000-2005 range--give or take a few years or a down year--there were more deer than right now. Some areas no doubt have a lot of deer, others are still behind. We will see how many they whack in the CWD areas!

I suppose someone will need to start a 2019 deer harvest survey pretty soon. I say this year you only get ONE pole number and in order to count.....you have to put $5. in the pot. The money needs to be held by anyone but Art....because you know how he gets when he gets a few bucks in his pocket. He'd be at the casino gambling and chasing fast wimen and such. What say you.....is $5 / per guess a reasonable amount? More? Less? Could pay-off be at the first land tour held? Rules? (none of this +1 chit like Wink likes to pull. . You'd have to be at least 1,000 off from the next guy.....IMO.

He says zones to the west show it, where managed has been in place for years and deer numbers are still growing.

I suspected he was skimming from our joint venture in Tom's Gull Lake Snow Removal, but we were making so damn much, I thought it best to just chalk it up to the cost of doing business.

Been wondering when my dividend checks might show up.

Beau said that? I am sure the propaganda machine is just getting wound up. ‘Hunters goals are different now than 10 -15 years ago. All about antlers and won’t shot does. Nobody shoots more than two deer.’ If true, we accomplished something. But it is hard to beat the FPM. Free Propaganda Machine the state gets.

Be fun if it was true.

I'm not sure and would have to dig (and I'm not gonna), but there aren't too many zones to your west that have been "managed for years" except for good ol' 215. You get west of here and those zones have been managed off and on at best (worst). 214 may be similar, but I know they were at least a year behind 215 in going back to Intensive. The herd in my little chunk of 215 has indeed grown even though the DNR has made it so we can whack and stack deer.
