Daydreamer, can you share some photos of your 6 shooter? I've got a couple spots where I'm planning new blinds. Are these noisy? I have a couple of the Booners blinds, the little 4 panel jobs. They're OK. But they don't seal real well, the door warps and there's always a gap somewhere. Does your Maverick seal well enough to keep the squirrels out all Winter? If a guy can keep the pests out, then attaching carpet or something to the lower walls would insulate and quiet. Not noisy at all, pretty sturdy. Can get tinted windows, clear or black. I have all tinted except for my door which I blacked out for my background. We put carpet on floor. Mine has been out for 4 years now. Door is warping just a tad recently but no squirrels yet. I can open/close windows at ease. My daughter and I can fit comfortably. With heater on it Heats enough without insulation with 3 windows open to take the edge off.

I watched a setup video just now for these. They share a lot of the parts with the Booner series. If I was to get one, I think I'd go with the "GX" model since I am just a gun hunter. When I turn 60, I'm sure I'll pick up a crossbow though. Either way, I don't need the vertical windows.
Thanks for sharing.

Here's what I bought myself. It's the shadow hunter marksman 6x6 octagonal archery blind. Haven't hunted out of it yet but plan to next year. It's really nice with both an outside drop down window for concealment and also a clear inside window for scent control and comfort. I wanted a blind for archery but also could be used in rifle if needed. This one fits both molds. Edit to add: i paid $2449.00 complete shipped to my door in mn. shadowhunterblinds.com/store/blinds/marksman-series/marksman-6x6-octagon-archery-blind/I kind of like the idea of putting one on wheels, for archery you need that spot on a spot, wonder how long that it would take deer to get used to it in a new spot.

I don’t know what the boys are charging now but you can get a blind with corner windows on 12’ legs delivered and stood up for less than $2K still I bet. Provided you ain’t to far away from Mora.

Fechtner Blinds in Elbow Lake makes a damn nice blind. fechtnerdeerstands.com/our-products/218-685-5470-huntingstands/I stopped in a few years ago and he had 3 "seconds" out back. he wanted 300 each for them. No windows were in them, but that was easy to solve. One had a dent in the roof, one had the heater shut off in the oven too early so the inner walls werent smooth, and the last one I dont recall what was wrong. I wish I had bought all 3 but at the time I was really on edge due to our company being bought out and no clue yet if I had a job for sure or not, so I passed.

I do like my Redneck blind. For the most part I like them also. I’m not a fan of the tinting because at twilight it appears darker than it really is. Do you typically hunt with with a window open or all closed?

Do you typically hunt with with a window open or all closed? Most of the time closed. I will open front window last 15 minutes if wind is right. I have had deer within 5 feet of blind and opened window slowly without them knowing.

I'm a big fan of my redneck stand. They are well designed and great for bow and gun. We killed 2 with a bow and 1 with a gun out of mine this year.
They aren't cheap, but in my opinion they are worth it.

Do you set up so you can stick the tip of the arrow out the window?? Do you leave the window where you expect the deer to come from open all the time or open it as they approach??

My redneck blind is the 6x6 version. When shooting my bow from it I only open the window when I will be shooting and I sit as far away from the window as I can. I can watch the deer moving into my shooting window through the adjacent screened window. That way the deer don't see me until they are in my shooting lane. If necessary I grunt to get the deer to stop

My blind has the tall vertical Windows on the corners to shoot through with the bow. The windows are plenty wide to shoot through and the stand is very well designed in general.

Ok, thanks. Was concerned about an arrow bouncing around in the blind!!!
Still debating buying or building a blind. Have time with Covid staying at home. Still looking for a plan on online, not sure of my construction skills. Also thinking by the time I buy all the materials, treated lumber, windows doors that I may as well buy one.

I think a plan that generally copied the redneck template with horizontal oriented gun windows on the sides and vertical oriented bow windows in the corners would be the way to go. If I had a bunch of leftover wood sitting around and a ton of free time I'd probably try to build one myself but I don't think it would be as nice as the Redneck.
