A couple nights ago, about 50 yards from the house.

I've been rooting for this guy to make it (he's one of the reasons I shot a smaller deer off a different property... temptation). Pulled.the card tonight, forgot to check dates so this is either Saturday or Sunday night. If it's Sunday night he made it through rifle season. post picture online

Two (2) of the survivors at my place. Since the season closed have 9 (nine) different bucks on cam. Looks promising for the future.

It will be interesting to see what that tall racked 7 pointer turns into. Those are some tall g2's.

The two in the first pic were one's I really hoped would make it. Now if they can survive the last 2 weeks of bow season, the highway, and 2 weeks of "antlerless" season it'll be smooth sailing for them.

That lower main frame 8 looks like an old buck already that I bet will throw a few extra kicker points next year.

A lot of the Minnesota bucks I was interested in.. have been shot. There are some really nice 2.5 year olds that (I think) survived, with a few 3.5. I think next year could be pretty good actually.
Winter is good so far!

Things are not looking good at my place in se mn. I think i had pictures of 6 bucks this year I thought were 3.5+ years old and i think only one has survived. And we have stupid bonus cwd late season shotgun seasons the next two weekends that are likely followed by more January seasons.
Unlimited bucks and does can be killed for $2.50 per tag. That's in addition to the regular 3 buck per year limit in the cwd zones.

this is the best one that survived this far. He is a wide buck I think is 3.5 years old. He will be a nice one next year if he can survive the late season hunts. Removing the aprs and increasing the number of buck tags this year has cut the normal number of survivors in half here. It will likely get worse from here unfortunately.

Well, the other side of the coin is that with these late season hunts, most will look like does when they drop their antlers. Holy shit Ben, I feel for you. that is a double stacked shit sandwich. holy fuck.

Hunters in WI's CWD zone whacked a bunch of extra bucks for a couple years...then it seemed most had their fill of gluttony and eased up. The buck hunting in my old part of Dane County, WI when I left in '12 was as good as it had ever been. Central and East Central Minnesota deer hunters seem "different" than hunters there. Maybe SE MN deer hunters will be more similar to WI's CWD zone hunters.
