What do you call those gizmos? And they won't leave behind fines or residue to give me the shits or an ulcer?

flap discs. Often used with 4.5 inch cordless battery powered grinders.
I googled 'food grade flap discs' and didn't see anything. Use at your own risk. I would rinse good and consider cooking a throw away meal before one for human consumption.

You should see the things we used to maintain & manufacture the equipment. A good wash is all that is needed. Personally using flap disk on a griddle is asking for trouble. They are to course and will leave scratch marks. Now if you were to put a scotch brite pad on you'd be better off, but then again they also come in different grades from very fine to course. I still say the best bet for a griddle is the brick.

I wouldn't want gouge marks or anything that wasn't flat while cleaning one. We had large metal tables (1 inch aluminum) for the shop. After working on them we used large stones to clean them up, get rid of marks, and return them to flat. surface.

After you mentioned brick, i went to the tube and saw a couple videos on how to use those bricks. Got a pack of the bricks coming now. Hopefully they get here. I've not had luck with the delivery services as of late. Let's go Brandon.

Didn't think of this till after I started eating. Here's a pic of griddle after making scrambled eggs with 3 perfect folds.

What kind of mess do these things make to the area around the grill? Is there a lot of splatter?
