I guess I don't understand. The questions seem poorly worded and without purpose. A person could think that deer shouldn't be farmed but understand that deer farms are indeed legitimate businesses. Is this from the Outdoor News? What is the Outdoor News and what are they trying to do?
I think a more relevant question right now is; should deer be domesticated? Because nobody seems to mind that canines, felines, or bovines were domesticated at some point it time. In fact... I would say that most dog owners are more than ok with the practice.

There is not enough information to make a decision. What does deer farming do for Minnesota, how big is the industry, how many people does it employee, what are the economics? What are the risks?
Weigh all of the above and you will have an answer. Based on what I have read the benefits are small but the risks to the general public could be high if CWD effects the wild herd or if it transfers to humans.
At minimum it needs to be regulated allot more, double fences (no exceptions), much larger fines and oversight.

How much are existing fines? There are multiple closed herds with double fence that have become positive. EHD likely has the same odds of infecting humans. Cats mink and camels all have their own prion diseases, but we keep unchecked cats all across the worlds. I dont think CWD is a big deal. Deer die from a lot of stuff, but CWD is nowhere near the top of the list. Its just another govt shit show to scare the masses for whatever funding reason.

I don't think CWD is as big of a deal as it has been made to be. However, I certainly would like to not be eating any CWD+ venison. The only answer to this issue is to develop an affordable and reliable field test. If hunters don't care, they don't have to pay to have their tested. If they do, then cough up the fee (reasonably priced fee) and rest easy on feeding your family venison

Probably safer to eat CWD deer than all the shit that is shoved into the meat we buy at the store. Yeah, just like it was probably a good idea to smoke half a pack of Pall Mall non filters than to feel some stress. Once you purposely start serving your wife and kids some CWD positive venison, that argument will have some merit.

I just voted for option B against deer farms. Its now at 3 for farming and 22 against. There are plenty of domestic animals they can farm if they want livestock. The amount of money spent fighting CWD is probably higher then the amount made from farming deer. And the farmers that brought it to Minnesota sure are not paying for it. Plus the lost spending that will come from the decline in hunting. The loss in property values could be in the billions. That will also result in lower property taxes. There are all kinds of things the city code prevents me from doing on my own property because it might affect the neighbors property values. I don't see why deer farms should get a free pass.
