My whole family went 0 for 5 at my place. Everyone saw some does....but no bucks this year. 1st time we were blanked since I owned the land. Not many calories in tag soup.

Do you know if your neighbors had better luck than you? With your food and cover I thought your place would be set for gun season since you had a bunch of nice ones on camera early.

My neighbor near Swift Falls/Benson area text me yesterday. They hunt 6 different properties. Worst year in 30 years he said for bucks. They had a lot of tag soup,

Filled a doe tag in MN but no shots fired in MO. I've been a catch and release hunter this year. Still time....

My boys took two does in MN and 3 does in WI between archery, rifle, and muzzy. None of us even saw a decent buck during shooting hours. Got plenty of meat for all who wanted it, but no bone.

How did your season go Satch with the health event behind you? Did you get out as much as you wanted and such?

My buck and doe tag are still in my pocket and I will be trying to change that all of the way until the end of the year!

I'll end up eating my archery tag. What is the rule on that again? If you shoot one with your shotgun, you cannot tag another buck on your archery tag.,,, but you can tag a doe correct, as long as you are in a zone that allows you take multiple deer? Correct?

I got to spend the full 10 days hunting up at camp for the MN season, and hunted about 5 days over in WI. Just took it a bit easier than normal. I did have one E-room visit between MN & WI seasons, but that just required a med adjustment. Feeling pretty damn good for the most part. It was great to be out and about.

I believe you're correct. I don't pay all that much attention since I have zero intention of shooting an antlerless deer.

Correct? mostly correct. One buck tagged per hunter, but main tags are either/or tags so they can be used for a doe(antlerless) if the zone's limit allows for it. If you shot your buck with a shotgun in a managed or intensive zone then you may still use your archery main tag on a doe in a lottery or any zone except bucks-only zones.

I'll end up eating my archery tag. Forgot how many acres you own. Doesn't 80 get you a free landowner tag?

I'll end up eating my archery tag. Forgot how many acres you own. Doesn't 80 get you a free landowner tag? Todd County GIS says 95.5. An 80 that's zoned ag gets you a free landowner tag that can only be applied to a doe. I am sure I could go in and get the tag since I've never seen anybody at Fleet Supply checking the zoning for some land owner's property. I have seen them check on acreage amounts. But it's a doe tag. I'm not shooting a doe.
