We get trumpeter swans. No tundra's. It's my understanding that there are no seasons for trumpeter in the US. Maybe their ranges don't overlap during hunting season? I wouldn't know how to tell them apart before shooting.

Cs Tundras migrate south. Trumpeters mostly winter in mn.
I would bet what you see are tundras.

Found a shed while running hillside trails this afternoon. And a freshly mowed yard with redbuds in the background. Certain signs of spring! Chances of snow tomorrow.

Those morels look awesome. I'm not sure why our ancestors chose to live in Minnesota and Wisconsin instead of Kansas-

He said they are somewhat rare here but becoming more common. Interesting side note; I shot the first documented Surf Scooter in our county. Until I shot that bird I had no idea we could get ocean ducks.

Another sign of spring, my bee guy dropped off a bunch of hives this morning. Earliest they've ever shown up since I've been here. Not sure what the heck they're going to forage right now, willow and red maple blooms are about the only flowers open right now.

There is a beekeeper 1/2 mile from my place and I think his bees spend a lot of their time at my place. It is pretty crazy when the buckwheat is flowering.

He gives me 8 qts. of honey for "letting him" keep the hives here. The guy had hives on this property before I bought it and he's just continued to bring them every year. Works out great for me (except for the few stings I get every year)
