The few miles of dirt road I walk show just this. Some average sized tracks with dew claws chasing smaller tracks. When the craziness really hits, the roads are torn up with tracks from huge to tiny. With the rising pressure in the forecast on Wednesday/Thursday, I'm guessing those may be really good days to spend in the woods. I suppose the best time to be in the woods is when your target buck walks past your stand... Got no target buck on either farm here in Mn. I do have a big one that just showed up on camera in Missouri yesterday. I should be hunting there. Lol. I've got 3 bucks running around that are 120-135"ish. It'll be tough to pass them when/if I see them. The north neighbors will whack them all if they get the chance. I know that if I shoot them they sure as hell won't get any bigger. I wish my east neighbor would shoot one of them.

No shooters on our farm. But my nephew is up. He gets buck fever bad. Dumass shot bucks last year and year before my son passed with his bow on the farm next to my parents house. Pretty fucking counter productive. If he does it again I will have a firmer discussion this year.

Good luck guys and make sure you enjoy the hunt.
I have been icing one knee and probably won’t hunt much for a few days.
Almost zero road kills and very few tracks crossing roads as opposed to last year. I did see a few 1.5 and one 2.5 year old moving around.

One kid in our party has a buck down. Happy for him as it’s his first deer. He’s 18 and been hunting since 12. Haven’t seen a pic yet but he thought it was a 6 pt.

Passed on a decent buck around 8:30. I'll have to look on my laptop for a trailcam pic. Watched him work a grapevine scrape and rub the red cedar post. Pretty cool. Lots of shooting early, quiet as hell now for quite a while

Lots of shooting early, quiet as hell now for quite a while I'm about 95% sure that this is the buck I passed this morning. He's either an exceptional 2.5 year old, or late dropped 3.5. He's got a lot of weird sticker points, really nice mass, and I think he's a mainframe 10 point. Had he been a bit wider or the tines longer...I would have pulled the trigger. I ended up seeing 5 different bucks today. Only the first one was worth a second look. Also saw at least 7 different antlerless deer, it may have been quite a few more but it's tough to tell. At one point I had 5 adult does around me for close to an hour. Finally, a 7 pointer showed up to harass one of them. Definitely not peak rut yet well...I guess I can't post pics right now. I get a message saying the server is down? Finally

My dad saw a couple little bucks and does this morning hunting by his house. On the drive to my buddy’s farm I saw a big buck chasing a doe across a big field.
I hunted a buddy’s farm this morning in an overgrown pasture between two standing corn fields and a woods that was logged last year. I sit on the ground against a cedar tree with a tripod as the shots tend to be a little longer and the cedar breaks up my outline really well. The first deer I saw was a nice one and I dropped him at 100 yards. Then he stuck his head up a few seconds later, so I shot him again.
I reloaded and walked over to check him out and when I was a yard or two away he jumped up and sprinted away. I’ve never seen that before, but I always walk in cautiously since I’ve heard of a lot of deer that run off and are never found. I might have set the 2 shot speed record for a savage 220 and both found their mark.
Tonight I took my son our in our food plot and we saw a couple little bucks chasing does. He passed up his first buck tonight, which surprised me. My dad saw a few does tonight and equal number of hunters.

No deer seen yesterday on opener. Hunters are thicker than normal. Had 6 walk past me yesterday evening alone. Waiting for the wind to shift before diving into the swamp here.

My buddy is up nw of Duluth hunting a mile back on state land. No trail to his stand, uses gps and a compass to get to it. Had a guy walk right by him yesterday at 9am. He said in 10 years of hunting that spot he has never seen a human. Guess times are changing.

If I was up by Duluth I’d rather just walk 50 feet into Castle Danger Brewery ! But I understand the challenge aspect !
