I used my FIMCO sprayer this weekend and fortunately got all my important spraying done before it stopped spraying. I called FIMCO and I guess the herbicide I was using (Duall II Magnum) has some Petroleum in it and that can destroy the diaphragm. I primarily use Roundup or clethodim and have tried to clean the unit religiously. I suppose Duall II could have done something to the diaphragms and if that is the case I need a better sprayer.
I have had poor luck with this sprayer and already replaced the diaphragm and several other parts. I know some guys have had good luck with their units but I am looking for a better alternative.
What other sprayers are guys using or have heard of that have been trouble free?

Does anybody use a non-diaphragm sprayer? Just wondering if they are more dependable?

Tagging in as my fimco sucks as well. Piece of crap started leaking this year after replacing the pump last year.

I had some broken fittings on my Fimco this spring. Fortunately I had some replacements. Always an issue to keep this sprayer working. I do think they are all problematic. The diaphram pumps are relatively low-volume pumps. A good roller pump would produce more volume....but they have problems too.
The money FIMCO charges for a replacement diaphragm is insane. I have replaced the pump and the diaphragm......and I suppose I should keep a spare on hand.

If you use that paste I linked above you hardly need any torque to get the fitting to seal and thus don't stress the fitting much. It really helps from my experience. When I bought my new sprayer I disassembled every fitting and put that paste on and I've never had a leak.

Brad where'd you buy your FIMCO from? I can't find the model I want at Farm & Fleet and a general internet search isn't providing much

Nice.
Because its made in America.
I know you probably need it now but if you buy in the off season they usually are cheaper on sale when the season closes out. That is how I bought mine in December.

I have that one. I got it off Clist a couple summers ago. Foggy picked it up for me near his home. The guy used it one time. I paid 100 for it I think. Might have been 150.

The first sprayer I bought I purchased off Craigs list. Ended up having the normal leaks. That is how I found out about that paste above. It fixed them all.
