What's the latest on deer activity? I can only assume that the deer are hitting the acorns as they've vacated my clover/brassica plot? I don't have a camera on my plot that's bordered by red oaks that were loaded with acorns. I've got a vid camera that I can live stream and pan/tilt on food plot that is lined with red and bur oaks. Pretty common right now to watch deer bounce between the oats/peas/clover/radish in the plot and the red oak acorns on the edges. The bur oaks are already gobbled up or rotten now. Here's a couple clips I recorded last night while watching the live stream. Seems they bounce between eating food plot, eating red oak acorns, and making scrapes under the low hanging pin oak branches. Great intel, thank you. Now I just need a West wind to hunt my spot. Looks like middle of next week might be go time.

Deer trails coming off my north neighbor's place towards the corn are getting beaten down.

The red oak acorns are thick on my new property this year. Way more than I'd thought there'd be due to that late May 17 degree morning. I'm not sure if that frost killed next years crop and left this year's alone or whether it was due to this being a north facing slope snd May have been a week or two behind other local areas? Most of the white oaks in the area were a bust this year except for two or 3 trees that dropped a ton of nuts. I collected 15-20 pounds of white oak nuts off those 3 trees using the nut weasel. Way easier then picking them up one at a time.

My recent walk in one area indicated most of the bur acorns are cleaned up, but the ground is covered with red or pin acorns.
