I hope that your tractor can handle the RTP Genesis. When I talked to them they recommended 45 to 50 hp tractor for that size drill. It will be interesting to see if your tractor will handle it.
^. Two years ago...they did not offer the RTP Genesis "light" version. Now they do. The "heavy" model weighs 2600 lbs plus the seed, so many smaller tractors cannot pick it up. the Light version weighs 1600 lbs plus seed. My three point will lift 2675 lbs. So I think I am good to go with the weight on the back - but they also offer a 'wheel lift kit' that could be employed if needed. (Also, I am not afraid to "shim" the relief on the hydraulics to add some lift capacity if needed....but I doubt this would be necessary.).
My tractor is a bit unusual....in that it's got a somewhat larger size / weight than many of the compact tractors in this HP category. I feel it is up to this task. (My tractor/loader/fluid filled rears gets up to nearly 6000 lbs.)
I don't think pulling the drill in my sandy soils will be an issue and I pulled the Tar River drill with similar disks and blades without so much as a struggle. In real heavy, hard clay this may be another issue.
Been having this conversation on Facebook at the RTP Genesis owners and users group. Good site for info. Still, I do not think I will sell my Tar River drill until I KNOW the Genesis works better for me.

My wife hates the no till spill. I wanted to see how big they would get. They are the beat brassica on my property.

A guy near St Louis MO called me tonight for a reference on the Tar River Saya drill. He said he has been following this thread (and others here) and liked reading about this stuff. I believe I told hime I paid $4300 plus tax....but that is wrong. Actually as said above I paid $5475 plus tax for my machine. (funny how memory fades ). Anyway....as I told him I would buy it again. Gets the job done and is quite affordable in the scheme of things. Hope he reads this. Not many machines out there so if a guy wants one for spring you gotta act on 'em. I think I will be saleing my Tar River Saya come spring.....but only if my RTP Genesis shows up as promised and provided it works behind my tractor. Machinery is in short supply in these times. I'm waiting on both the drill and a roller/crimper to show up.....and both have been delayed by ocean shipment issues. Lets go Brandon. I hope that your tractor can handle the RTP Genesis. When I talked to them they recommended 45 to 50 hp tractor for that size drill. It will be interesting to see if your tractor will handle it. I read much of those weight concerns too.....and there is still lots of contradicting info on this. Here are the most recent weights and total weights with seed in the hoppers. The Genesis 5 "Light" is shown above the 5 HD. Empty it weighs a bit less than that shown. But my 3 Point is supposed to lift 2800#.....so I think I am good to go. I dont think pulling that drill would be an issue....It cannot pull harder than a 6 foot tandem disk buried to the hubs.....and my tractor toys with the disk.

The status on my crimper and drill. Geesh. My guess is the consumer end of their business is taking a back seat to the commercial business. Numbers talk so my guess is they get the product why you wait. At least you have your other unit.

The status on my crimper and drill. Geesh. These supply chain issues suck. I wonder if I&J would have been better on the crimper. I’m sure their lead times are beyond normal but they are US made.

Been perusing YouTube and found a few worthwhile videos on no till. The one below focuses on Soybean plots (and I am reluctant to do that.....at least at this time). I think it's an overall good video on the benefits of a drill. Seeing more lower cost no till drills on the market too. Great Plains/Landpride has a "fair" 3 point product in 5 and 6 foot widths now on the market. The Tar River Saya has a pretty good following too. Times are changing.

i didn’t see specific information on which endanger species they are concerned about and how the herbicide would act on that specie.

In news that has to do with the thread title..... .....I did buy a 6 foot wide roller crimper today. It will mount on the loader and go in front....(preferred way to operate),or in the back of my tractor....as I see fit. . Delivers in Sept. Gonna get ahead of the equipment and price game by buying now. The Goliath 6' Roller Crimper I bought in August last year (above) finally arrived at my dealer in MN. I'm glad I bought when I did....as the prices for this stuff are going higher. I also bought a Genesis 5 Light grain drill at last years price.....but that has not showed up yet. Will likely sale my Tar River drill after seeing how the Genesis works out for me. One thing about macheinery these days.....is that you gotta plan ahead. Lots of popular stuff is hard to get when you want it.

Got a call today while I was playing golf.....regarding the RTP Genesis 5 Light drill. I made a commitment to purchase in early September.......and it was supposed to be here in Oct, Then Nov, Then Dec, Then Jan.....and now they dont know when. Also they had committed to sell me at the 2021 prices....but now that deal is off the table.....and the drill is $2000 + more than last years price. I told him to keep the drill.....gonna get along with what I got.
Been a frustrating experience to purchase this way......and I am certain many farmers have far bigger issues than I do. How fast times have changed. Let's Go Brandon.....FJB.

They are shipping vehicles from the factories with several memory chips missing. Just trying to move stuff. The supply chain has a few missing links. Hard to know who to trust anymore. Let's go Brandon!

Buy used locally? Craigslist and Marketplace may be your friends right now. I bet you could buy a used one and hire a local shade-tree mechanic to go through it and make it like new for a lot less trouble than dealing with brandon's system.
